ABOUT US

Abingdon marine carpentry is owned by myself Kyle Abingdon.

I have been working with wood for 26 years and working in the boatbuilding industry for over 15 years.

I have worked on many projects from ships like the Cutty sark, HMS warrior and HMS victory to smaller privately owned yachts, launches and dinghy's.

I have built several small boats, been involved in larger new builds and undertaken repairs of all kinds on clinker, plywood, strip plank and carvel planked boats. I have fitted engines and made many spars and masts. I have also undertaken interesting carpentry jobs such as carvings for Knole house, a suspended tree house, bespoke motor homesand timber items for TV set design.

I have a personal interest in wooden boats and I am passionate about clever engineering and good aesthetics.

Labour is charged at £28 per hour or prices cans can be supplied for specific jobs.

New build

Please get in contact if you would like us to build you a new boat from either traditional materials or a newer composite. Building of new masts and spars also undertaken.

Restoration & Repair

If you've found an old boat you'd like to restore, damaged your own or would like to refit your yacht don't hesitate to contact us. we also install engines, winches and 12v systems.

Bespoke carpentry

We are also happy to discuss any interesting carpentry projects you may have.
